History of Elpos Ltd.

ELPOS Ltd. it is certainly not a “gazelle company” because it took us 20 years to get from the garage to the position of the most important manufacturer of electric heating equipment in the Republic of Croatia. We “spent” the next 10 years to upgrade our production plant, complete the professional staff and introduce the production of electronic circuits for electric heating control. How this went is evident from the chronological view:

1990. – Ivanka Babić, LLB and Tomislav Babić, prof.el., in their garage, establish ELPOS Ltd.
1991. – we perform the first electric heating of the pipeline (Tuhobić tunnel)
1992. – Professor Babić, after 10 years of work, leaves the factory KONČAR – Electric heating elements, we make our first catalog of heating cables
1993. – times are hard, the company has 2 employees and we do everything that has to do with electrical engineering, we make a new company logo
1994. – the company has 3 employees and we perform our first heating: gutter, floor under the cooling chamber, exterior surfaces and blinds, we refine our modest catalog
– begins our long-term cooperation with the leading German manufacturer of heating cables, GARNISCH GmbH
1995. – we perform our first underfloor electric heating of a church (Cista Velika) and the first large gutter heating (Monastery and church of the Herzegovina province in Zagreb)
1996. – we move from the garage to a new business space (approx. 50 m²), we do the first large heating of the fuel oil pipeline (Barracks Lora – Split)
1997. – the company has 4 employees, we do heating of sliding paths of segmental shutters on the dams of HPP Senj
– we sign an “Agreement on exclusivity for the supply of heating cables for the countries of the former Yugoslavia” with the company GARNISC GmbH
1998. – we start exporting our products (AD TOPLIFIKACIJA – Skopje), we do underfloor heating of bathrooms and gutters of the whole settlement (Nova Jurkovićeva – Zagreb)
1999. – we create our first website and do the first large heating of the ramp garage (VABA – Varaždin), as well as the first jobs outside Croatia (BiH)
2000 – begins our long-standing cooperation with a Danish manufacturer of electronic circuits for el. heating by OJ ELECTRONICS
2001. – we introduce a new product into production – thin heating mats and create a new catalog
2002. – we start building a production plant in Radnovac, 8 km from Požega
2003. – the company has 5 employees and we equip underfloor heating and bathroom mirror heating in the hotel Esplanade – Zagreb
2004. – we are heating the channels of the north stand of the stadium in Maksimir and underfloor heating in 3 churches
2005. – we move into our production plant in Radnovac (approx. 600 m2)
2006 – the company has 7 employees and we start producing all the assembly equipment we need
2007. – our cooperation with the company VMD PROMET continued on their large project, 11 facilities at Šalata in Zagreb
2008. – our ninth employee arrives from the family quota, Željka Babić (now Grcić) graduated from FER (Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing – Zagreb), the most important facility was ARENA – Zagreb
2009. – we are stronger for another engineer from FER, that is Jurica Grcić, we are buying a very powerful thermal imaging camera
2010. – we upgrade a new production hall (150 m²), we introduce a quality control system according to the ISO 9001 standard, we introduce a new product into production – foils for floor heating under cold store units and cooling chambers
2011. – staffing from our own ranks continues, Sanja Babić (now Šostar) arrives from the Faculty of Law in Zagreb, we produce our first heating traces
2012. – we install and put into operation a solar power plant of 30 kW on our roofs, we get the “Golden Marten” for the best small company in Požega-Slavonia County
2013. – with almost all our capacities, we move from installation work to the production of equipment for electric heating
2014. – we install a line for surface mounting of electronic components, equip our own measuring laboratory and produce our first digital electronic thermostats
2015. – we do underfloor electric heating, which KONČAR installs in new train sets of the Croatian Railways
– we start strategic cooperation with the South Korean manufacturer of self regulating heating cables, the company FINE KOREA
2016. – we equip a new space for the production of heating mats in the newly built hall (approx. 250 m2), receive the collective award of the city of Požega, modernize the company logo, launch our brand “ELPOS ELECTRONICS” and launch our Facebook page
2017. – we procure a machine for low-pressure plastic injection and related equipment necessary for the production of ETU thermostats (protection IP68)
2018. – our electronic circuits travel to customers in Japan and South Korea, we receive public recognition for “successful business and contribution to the development of the economy of the municipality of Jaksic”
2019. – we install heaters in the blinds of air conditioning chambers, our permanent partner of the company PRO-KLIMA, and we produce heaters for benches, tables and deck chairs in wellness centers
2020. – with the help of the state (HAMAG – BICRO) we procure almost complete new IT equipment and certify our electronic assemblies for the market of the EU, South Korea, Japan, Russia, the USA and Canada
2021. – we are testing the work and running the production of the SMC-2 electronic regulator for guiding the melting of snow and ice, as well as the associated measuring sensors PSL-1, SOV-5 and SZT-10
2022. – we are acquiring a robot for soldering “through hole” components and a “Samsung” device for mounting SMD components
