Smart outdoor ground sensor PSL-1 for moisture and temperature detection

The sensor for detecting snow and ice on the outdoor ground surface, PSL-1, is circular in shape and is installed in the plane of the ground surface to be heated.

A typical example of a surface to be heated is a garage ramp whose freezing must be prevented so that cars can safely enter and exit the garage in winter.

The sensor is placed in a plastic carrier, which is supplied along with the sensor. The sensor is fixed into the bracket using three screws (M5). On the underside of the sensor is a cable with a connector used to connect the sensor to the SMC-2 controller.

The connection of the sensor with the controller is achieved by means of a connection cable, standard length of 10m, which has a connector at one end for connecting to the PSL-1 sensor. If necessary, the connection cable can be extended up to a total of 50m.

The plastic sensor mount on the underside has four screws (M6) that are used to precisely level the bracket. A neoprene seal is supplied alongside the carrier, which prevents water from entering the space inside the sensor carrier.
