Specialized heating applications

What are special heaters?

Special heaters, according to the criteria of our company, are the most diverse heating designs realized with heating cables, which solve the specific needs of the customer, and are not our frequent and usual products.

Due to the different requirements, needs, but also the regulations that need to be met, it is difficult to give a general description of how to solve the problem in the case of special heating. Own experience, client experience, intuition, and experiment are usually the path to a solution, because sometimes it is not possible (or we don’t know) to conduct a proper budget. It is important to emphasize that the electric heating cables we use belong to the group of low-temperature heat sources and are not able to meet the needs for high power (max. 60 W/m) and high temperatures (max. 150 °C).

Heating of louver

Heating of lamellas and sides of louvers of air chambers, with the purpose of preventing the gluing of slats and tearing of the swivel mechanism, is classified in the category of special heaters, although we have been doing them continuously since 2000. Why are they special after all? Because we make them in “countless” variations and carefully adapt to the needs of the customer, and the very concept and installation process have nothing to do with the rest of our heating. The heating cables are installed in the sealing tires of each individual lamella, and the operation of the heater is controlled by thermostats built into the control boxes on each individual louver.

In addition to louvers with swivel lamellas, we occasionally heat different types of louvers with fixed lamellas.

Heating of powder material tanks

Maintaining technological temperatures on different tanks is possible by using flexible heating cables. The heating cables are laid by gluing, reinforced with aluminum tape, on the tank itself or by tying it to a metal mesh attached to the tank. The layout and amount of heating cables depend on the shape of the tank and the required heating power.

Antenna heating

Heating of parabolic antennas with the purpose of preventing the deposition of snow and ice in their lower zone. Self-regulating heating cables are evenly distributed in the critical zone of the antenna and protected by an insulating “sleeve”, in order to melt snow and ice as quickly as possible and thus enable the antenna to receive and send signals properly.

Heated mirrors

Installing heating cables or heating foils on the rear of the mirror prevents it from fogging up. Dew is caused by condensation of water vapor on the cold glass of the mirror when showering in bathrooms. The shape of the mirror also dictates the shape of the heaters, so this extremely exotic one was created.

Heated car tires

Speaking of the exotic, in 2009, to a local street race fan, we made heaters to heat the tires of his competition car. The man was winning, but probably more because of the powerful car and his abilities than because of our heaters.

Sliding door guide heating

In winter, snow and ice can accumulate on the sliding door guides, which prevents the wheels from moving the door smoothly. By installing a strong heating cable in the guide itself, this problem is successfully solved. This heating is not exotic and we make such heaters quite often.

Heating of seedlings

Heating garden tables of various sizes is quite common. Growing seedlings in the winter and in the early spring, in greenhouses and hothouses that are not heated throughout the volume, is possible thanks to heated garden tables, which protect the newly emerged plants from the cold. On thermally insulated tables, heating cables integrated in aluminum foil are placed or tied to a metal rabitz mesh and then covered with sand. Containers with seeds (or plants) are stacked on the sand and everything is covered with nylon. In addition to such heating, temperature regulation in the sand layer is also necessary.

Heating of animal dwellings

Using heating cables or thin heating nets, it is possible to heat poultry houses, terrariums, piglets, dog or cat houses and the like. When implementing such projects, it is important to know the temperature that corresponds to each species and the floor covering to ensure that the animals can not come into contact with the installed equipment.

Heating the adhesive container on the printing press

The photo shows a 100% dedicated heater, made and adapted to only one specific task – heating the glue in the container of the printing machine. The available installation space, the free surfaces of the pan and the required heating power dictated the shape and technical solution.

Heating “jacuzzi tub”

This demanding heating of the concrete-ceramic jacuzzi tub is realized with thin heating nets installed under the ceramic mosaic tiles. For user safety, the heaters are powered via a 24 V transformer.
